Kışla-ı Hümâyûn
The Kışla-ı Hümâyûn (barracks) was built between 1869-1875, before the Russo-Turkish War by the vali Karslı Hatunoğlu (Kürt) İsmail Hakkı Paşa. He was the first to start building outside the walls, building along with the barracks the Medded Bey Câmi‘i, service buildings for the corps, his Hükümet konak, a Gureba Hastanesi, and the document vault.
